Couloir exploration

After riding into a Volcano twice and then bathing in the volcanic onsen yesterday we woke up to another perfect weather day. Our plan was to explore these couloirs or gullies that looked really nice from far. We didn’t really know how they would turn out when closet but the only way was to go out and see.
It turned out to be one of the best days of the season! You don’t get to ride couloirs in Japan often! Great snow and amazing run with some really narrow parts. When we got back to the onsen/hotel we heard that there is usually maybe 2-3 sunny days in January here and we got two now in a row! And there was no wind either. We really hit the jackpot by taking a chance and following our tips and insticts to this amazing place. Tokachidake is an experience.
