Waist Deep and sliding!

Snowtour by: Jonas Hagström

Well it really did dump again. It was close to a meter of fresh in less than 24 hours. We were waiting for Seegrube to open but it stayed closed as few other resorts also in the region. The road to Arlberg was closed due to an avalanche over the road. Avi danger rose to 4. All the steeper more open stuff was a big no go. We had to find a new place to experience at least little bit of the deep fresh snow.

We decided to drive to Seefeld and it turned out to be a good call. Weather was getting better and better and it was even sunny for the end of the day. Snow was deep and runs were really fun with some steep sections and pillows. Snow was moving a lot and we had to be on our toes all the time. We set out some small slabs in the trees on purpose and by accident. Conditions were dangerous but easy to avoid getting caught since everything was sliding so you didn’t want to put yourself in to any situations with consequence.

We got in late but managed to ride a lot of untracked. It was more quiet resort and even though it’s the most busiest time of the year there was not too many powder hounds tracking the trees. We had an amazing day again swimming and cruising the waist deep powpow.

Pow count: 30!
