Couloir exploration

After riding into a Volcano twice and then bathing in the volcanic onsen yesterday we woke up to another perfect weather day. Our plan was to explore these couloirs or gullies that looked really nice from far. We didn’t really know how they would turn out when closet but the only way was to go out and see.
It turned out to be one of the best days of the season! You don’t get to ride couloirs ...

After a long travel in to the unknown and just hoping for the best we woke up in the morning to perfect weather and great looking vulcanic mountains. We didn’t have a clue where to go so we just decided to explore and hike up. The view from the top is always better…
It ended up to be a awesome day and very unique experience.

Going to Hokkaido

They were predicting sun again and to make sure of that we drove to sunny side of Japan. The mountain range divides main island, Honsu, in to two parts. We were checking out the weather and it there was a good chance sun. We headed up to Kagura again hoping to hike to the top and ride some good snow in the sun. Snow snow snow! We definitely got what we came here for and even more. Dumping doesn’t stop and we like it! Swimming, sinking, drowning and loving it!
Takumi said that we got the best snowfall of the season for the past two days in Hakkaisan! There is no end to this pow mania. We are lucky boys.

14 Jan Protest World Rookie Fest Livigno
From the 14th till the 18th of January this event will take place. The Mottolino Snowpark in Livigno, Italy is a great impressive snowpark with medium, large and extra large slopestyle lines. Over a hundred rookies will compete at this event to show the snowboard industry what they’re worth.
03 Feb Protest French Fries Rookie Fest
From the 3rd till the 5th of February this event will take place. It’s the first time that a 3* TTR Rookie Fest hits the park of Avoriaz, France. Last years edition was a 2* TTR edition so for all riders it’s a big surprise what this event will bring this year.
18 Mar The BRITS (British Snow Tour Champs)
Staged in Europe's leading freestyle resort, this celebrated event attracts revelers for a weeklong festival of snowsports and music/ The lifestyle based BRITS event centres around the British Snow Tour Championships creating a synergy between world-class snowsports competition and cutting edge music.
01 Apr Snowfest 2012
Snowfest is a combination of snowboard & freeski, lifestyle and party. Part of the event are the Dutch Snowboard and Freeski championships.
11 Apr Protest World Rookie Finals
From the 11th till the 15th of April this event will take place. This 4* TTR slopestyle event is the most important for all riders. Here the best rookie takes the crown to call himself World Rookie Champion for 1 year. The snowpark of Ischgl Austria will come up with some sick slopestyle lines.
