Roadtrip to Kiroro

January 30, 2012

Snowtour by: Jonas Hagström

I was still snowing when we went to bed last night, but it didnt look like it would be deep enough to cover the hard surface under the pow. We figured we needed to wait another day before Niseko area would be epic.

We had heard a about a resort called Kiroro about one hour north of Niseko. Up there the snow supposed to be colder and deeper so we figured that we should give it a try. Miikka had some finish friends in Niseko that wanted to join us, so we were actually a crew of 5 riders going to Kiroro.

Kiroro was a pleasant surprise snow wize, but the terrain was not the best we have had. The resort consisted of short steep parts with great snow, followed by flat parts that needed to be hiked out from.

Overall though it was once again a great day in Japan. We are just a little spoiled with perfect conditions all the time. This trip is slowly becoming the best snowboardtrip we have ever had. We could not have asked for more.

Now we have 2 days left and the snow is puking down from the sky. It seems that we are the luckiest guys on earth. We will get the huge dump of light, cold Niseko pow before we leave as it seems : )

Tomorrow will be something spectacular! Cant wait!
