Riding in the whiteout

Snowtour by: Jonas Hagström

Today we went splitboarding in Glarus Switzerland with our good friend Rudy Hauser. Rudy took us on a extremly beautiful hike, in sunny but very cold conditions. I have had the flu earlier this week and was struggling hard to try to follow Rudy on the 1200 m vertical climb. Well even if I would have been in shape it would have been imposible to keep up with him. The guy climbs about 180 000 vertical meters a year! He is more or less a mountain goat.

We did 2 runs today, one in the sunshine with not so good snow and one with awesome snow but zero visibility.
It was so white that we couldnt see a thing. We almost crawled down the mountain. At some points we couldnt even tell if we were going downhill or upphill, strange feeling : )

Overall it was a very nice day, with beautiful hiking and partly great snow. Tomorrow Rudy will take us up to his mountain hut at 1700 meters. We will spend the night there and go hiking the day after. That will be pretty cool, we are really looking forward!
