‘INTO ALTAI’ presented by Protest Sportswear

This film takes us deep into the Tavan Bogd massif, nestled in the Mongolian Altai Mountains. Our team rider Camille Armand shares this passion with Pierre Hourticq and Victor Daviet — not only for the mountains, but also for exploring remote and unfamiliar lands. Alongside them, photographer Soren Rickards and filmmaker Yannick Boissenot join the journey, across a land shaped by wind, silence, and nomadic traditions.

Tavan Bogd — literally “The Five Sacred Mountains” — refers to a group of peaks steeped in symbolism and legend. For two weeks, a yurt will serve as their base camp, allowing them to explore this little-known massif on skis and snowboards.

But what are they really looking for in these mountains? Not achievement, nor applause. The mountain stands, majestic — but it is only part of the whole. What matters lies elsewhere: in the shifting light over the valleys, in the unfamiliar voices that slowly become familiar, in the way they adapt to the unexpected.

This pilgrimage becomes a space for transformation, shaped by slow discoveries and suspended moments. Every detour, every encounter, every silence weaves the invisible thread of this experience.

And at the end of the path, it won’t just be the peaks they remember — but what they lived on the way to reaching them. These are the timeless memories they came to find: precious, intimate moments that only they will truly be able to tell, through the grainy frames of their analog cameras.
