Finding the right snowboard jacket online can be quite a challenge, especially if you’ve never bought one before or if you bought your current jacket a long time ago. To help you find the right snowboard jacket, we’ve put together a useful guide: ’How to choose the right ski or snowboard jacket’. In this guide, we will walk you through the process step by step and answer all kinds of questions you may have when buying a snowboard jacket online. Once you’ve found the right snowboard jacket, you can simply order it online. You can then try it on in the comfort of your own home and see what it looks like with the rest of your outfit. Not 100% satisfied? Simply send it back to us. Buying a new snowboard jacket has never been easier.

Different lengths and fits

Our online collection features all kinds of snowboard jackets. The main difference between the various types of snowboard jackets is the length and fit of the jacket. In our women’s collection you’ll find long snowboard jackets, also called parkas, as well as short snowboard jackets. Due to their length, parka snowboard jackets are less suitable for snowboarders who spend the whole day at the snow park, but for the average snowboarder this type of jacket is great. Slim-fit jackets are also slightly less popular among snow-park fans, mainly because you have less freedom of movement. Anoraks are becoming more and more popular. Anorak snowboard jackets offer the same freedom of movement as a hoodie but can be used as a winter sports jacket because they also keep you nice and warm. So an anorak offers snowboarders like you the best of both worlds!

Technical specs

When it comes to choosing the right snowboard jacket, you have to consider more than just the aesthetics. The technical specs of a snowboard jacket are just as important. Because it’s these specs that distinguish a snowboard jacket from a normal winter jacket, such as the lift pass holder. A lift pass holder is a small pocket that is attached to the sleeve and used to store your ski lift pass. So you’re much less likely to lose your lift pass, and you’ll be through the lift doors in no time. Another useful feature you’ll find on many of our snowboard jackets is the waist gaiter. The waist gaiter, or snow catcher, catches snow that ends up under your jacket, keeping it from going up your back (for example when you fall on the slopes). Other handy specs (which you usually don’t see on normal winter coats) are partially or fully taped seams, ventilation zips, and Lycra thumb holes.

Waterproof snowboard jackets for women

An essential characteristic of a snowboard jacket is the waterproof rating. A snowboard jacket might look great, but it’s of no use to you if you get soaked in the first snow shower. To measure just how waterproof a jacket is, we use the water column – a scale from 0 to 20,000 that indicates the waterproofness of each jacket. The higher the number, the more waterproof the jacket is. All our women’s snowboard jackets have a waterproof rating of 10,000 (10K) or 20,000 (20K). For most snowboarders, a 10K waterproof jacket is more than enough. 20K snowboard jackets are particularly suitable for off-piste adventurers who regularly come into contact with deep powder snow. Whichever Protest women’s snowboard jacket you choose, you’re optimally protected against rain and snow showers.
