Botanical prints
A trend that is taking root in menswear is the botanical print. Detailed and dramatic plant studies create prints that emanate the time of the great discoveries in botany. These leafy hand drawn designs are framed in easy-going shapes like shorts and T-shirts. You’ll find these botanical prints on the Farlam and Eaton short sleeve shirts and Organ T-shirt. Wear these two to the beach with the matching Marcel and Salvador swim shorts for a co-ordinated look.
Mini prints
We’ve been inspired by the perfect summer, by pool parties with their colourful cocktails, inflatables and good times. This inspiration has led to the creation of the fun mini print on the Belmont T-shirt (and the matching Sonic swim shorts), in which girls lie on beach towels getting a tan. On the Pascal polo we’ve printed a small botanical mini print.
Stripes
Classic, combinable and effortlessly cool. The stripe is always on trend. We have stripes on T-shirts, shirts, tank tops and accessories. Stripes look great with solids as well as with print. This season, we’ve been experimenting, and we’ve created vertical and horizontal stripes. You’ll see this awesome vertical design on the Flavo T-shirt.
Our NXG Kiko is a jacquard stripe, which means that the stripe is knitted into the fabric creating an extra dimension. We’ve created a range of T-shirts featuring the essential horizontal stripe design, including the Almondo T-shirt with a colourful printed stripe and the Ceasar and the Theft 21 both featuring a yarn-dyed stripe. Easy to wear; add some stripes to your summer with Protest.
Graphic front prints
Summer is the time of year to wear print. So what kind of print should it be? This year choose the design that emanates the season of the sun, the graphic front print. This season graphic illustrations are in. You have so many to choose from! What about the linear designs on the Rodman and the Harwell T-shirts or the front print on the Isac T-shirt, which combines two of our favourite things, palm trees and mountains.
Colour blocking
That’s what it is! Colour blocking is the placing of a colour next to another colour to create contrast. Sometimes we use subtle colour differences and sometimes we use colours from opposite ends of the spectrum to achieve a big impact. Check out the Nestor and the Karvan T-shirts, which both combine a new quality fabric with a must-have colour palette.
In our NXG series, we have the NXG Maluku, a colour blocked long sleeve hoody with raglan sleeves in a quality heavy weight cotton, great for those cooler summer evenings. Check out the Radford longsleeve T-shirt made up of bands of on-trend colour.
Polo shirts
The polo is the ultimate in summertime smart-casual, and a super versatile piece that will fit seamlessly into your new summer wardrobe. We’ve created the NXG Hush using a yarn dyed stripe, which adds structure to the fabric. Then there’s our Kenin regular fit polo, printed with a leaf design. Team these great polo shirts up with the Packwood cargo shorts and you’re ready to hit the street.
New fits and qualities
Fits and fabric qualities are also always evolving. A good cotton T-shirt sounds simple but it’s not quite as straightforward as it looks. The quality of the fabric makes a big difference to how the T-shirt falls. The cut influences the fit. The length is also important. These are aspects that we are always working on, in a quest to create the perfect T-shirt.
This season sees new qualities, a heavier 220g cotton as well as more structured fabrics. We have improved the fit, lengthened the T-shirts and made them slightly looser. Our NXG Pennal is made from a heavy quality cotton and has a loose fit. In a lightweight cotton, there’s our Hobbes loose fit T-shirt.
Loungewear
This year is seeing a revolution in loungewear – clothing made to relax in. The fabric is soft, the fits are loose and relaxed. In our NXG series, we’ve got some fantastic hoodies made from quality heavy weight cotton. See our NXG Tanakato 21 and our NXG Jupiter both with a comfy kangaroo pocket. Then we have some longsleeve T-shirts like the NXG Viktor. To accompany these great hoodies and longsleeve T-shirts, we have the Carver and the NXG Grim jogging shorts made from comfortable heavy weight cotton. Clothes made for relaxing after the ride.
